How This Site Is Funded

The most important thing to understand is that Leadership-Expert.co.uk is completely free to use. Any product that is recommended on the site is here solely because it’s the very best, based on independent, detailed and specialised journalistic research by myself, the author. No one can pay to be given a positive review on this site.

So how does it generate revenue?

Google Adsense

As you will  have noticed – beneath the title of each blog post sits a box of links to Google advertisers. The box reads the content of my page, and generates links that are relevent to my topic – i.e. leadership. If a visitor decides to visit one of these advertisers, and clicks on a link, I earn a few pennies.

Affiliate Commissions

Leadership Expert guides and reviews are written purely from a ‘what’s the best leadership product out there?’ stance. Yet, once they’re finished, I scan the net to see whether any ‘affiliate links’ to these top products can be found. While these look and work the same way as normal links, if someone clicks through, the link is tracked and it may generate a payment to the site (the details vary; sometimes per click, per user, per application, per accepted application or any combination).

Doesn’t this compromise the site?

No. Leadership Expert articles are written first, then totally separately, paid links are looked for. If no paying link is available, nothing in the article changes. If the best is the best and doesn’t pay, it stays the best. The link used is simply a ‘non-affiliated’ i.e. non-paying, link. Financial considerations do not impact articles. As evidence, less than 5% of the posts on this website contain these ‘affiliate’ links.

Where do the links come from?

They come from affiliate sites such as Tradedoubler, Clickbank or Commission Junction. Their links are used and then if someone clicks through, this site gets a split of their revenue.

Why are you telling us this?

I personally believe that visitors deserve to know how this site can be made available free to use for the public. I believe that sites that twist their views and distort their reviews to intentionally mislead visitors into buying a product simply to earn commission are unethical and have no place in the leadership industry.

Thus want to make my website as transparent and honest as possible about how it finances itself, proudly with the knowledge that our independence is not compromised by commissions. Hopefully the success of Leadership Expert will inspire more websites to do the same.
